The Institute for the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology (IHPST) invites you to a panel, 'Inventing Objectivity' to be held on April 5 (3-5pm) in VC 115. We will have brief presentations from 3 speakers, followed by a discussion. Associate Professor from the Department of Historical Studies, Prof Tong Lam will share his research, "The Big Board in Ruins: The Rise of the Fact in China and Our Times of 'Post-Truth'“, followed by PhD candidate from the Department of East Asian Studies, Qieyi Liu who will present, "Inventing the 'Bios' of Biology: Concepts of Life and Nature in Early Twentieth-Century China, and postdoctoral fellow from IHPST, Dr Sayori Ghoshal who will present "A Twin Birth: Statistics and Race Science in Anti-Colonial India'.
