Biography
I am a fourth-year PhD candidate at the IHPST. I mainly work on topics at the intersection of moral philosophy and philosophy of psychiatry and medicine. My dissertation focuses on how the development of AI tools for psychotherapy can/will alter the nature of the patient-therapist relationship. The majority of my work focuses on current issues in bioethics, philosophy of medicine and psychiatry, and philosophy of science. Within the field of bioethics I have particular interests in trust and pandemic ethics. Prior to my doctoral studies, I worked with a team based at Western University studying ethical issues in the research and development of COVID-19 treatments.
Given that many of my areas of interest involve both academic research and consumer technology, I believe it is important to make my work useful and accessible to the public when possible. More information is available at my personal website: https://www.rakatz.com
