Biography
I am an engineer, a professional software test team leader, and a PhD candidate (flex-time) researching the history of philosophy and science in the nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries. My doctoral research is focused on the elusive figures of Sufi Europeans and their metaphysical and epistemic engagements with modern physics and mathematics. I am especially interested in competing epistemologies in (post)colonial contexts and their manifestations in writing, visual representation, practice, and material culture. My research aims to challenge Eurocentric ways of thinking about "science and religion", objectivity, and truth, and invites us to view the history and philosophy of science through the eyes of 'other' actors and categories. In addition, and with over a decade of professional experience in software testing, I am naturally interested in and actively engaged with new media applications (e.g., generative AI) and the epistemology of technology. Lastly, I regularly teach introductions to epistemology and publish articles and essays on various HPS and STS topics for general audiences.
