Biography

I completed my BA at the University of Toronto, double majoring in HPS and Book & Media Studies. My MA is supported by the CGS-M award given by the SSHRC.

My research interests revolve around questions of uncertainty, objectivity and risk in relation to knowledge. They can be divided into three main areas:

1.    The role of faith, tacit knowledge and uncertainty in the acquisition (and construction) of knowledge.

2.    The history of cartography, particularly cartographic depictions of the Middle East at the intersection (and tension) of religious, academic and military interests.

3.    The dehumanizing and reconstructing power of surveillance technologies, and the epistemic aims behind their use.
