Biography
Anas Taleb is an MA student at the Institute for the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology (IHPST) at the University of Toronto. Before joining the IHPST, he completed a joint honours B.A. in History and Middle Eastern Studies at McGill University.
Anas’s research examines the history of medicine and biology in the late Ottoman and early post-Ottoman Middle East, focusing on how scientific ideas intersected with intellectual and political debates in the region. His MA thesis investigates early twentieth-century discussions of rejuvenation, exploring how notions of bodily renewal reflected broader anxieties about national and civilizational revival and decline.
