Roula Faraj

My area of research is in the history, philosophy and sociology of science, with a particular focus on the physical sciences. I am primarily interested in the methodological and epistemological debates between the philosophy and the sociology of science. More specifically, I am interested in how the history of physics can inform the debates between contemporary pluralism and relativism. At the core of my research is the question of objectivity. I am interested in how an acknowledgment of the role of ambiguity can provide clarity in understanding how both the cognitive and the social play a role in the development of scientific knowledge.
