doctoral Fellow Miron J. Clay-Gilmore will present the first data visualiz
ation published by the Algorithmic Bias Project and the Clay-Gilmore Insti
tute  The works assembled under this exhibition emerge from the CG-IPTC's
inquiry into the algorithmic management of racialized life — a condition i
n which the logic of counterinsurgency has migrated from the battlefield t
o the domestic sphere. Through predictive analytics, biometric surveillan
ce, and spatial policing technologies, contemporary security practices n
ow enact strategies once reserved for the governance of colonized populati
ons. Our central concern is not simply that artificial intelligence and pr
edictive policing reproduce racial bias, but that they embody the very st
rategic grammar of militarized population control. This event will also be
streamed live here! ABC is a University of Toronto–based interdisciplinary
research initiative focused on understanding and addressing algorithmic b
ias in Canada. Through academic collaboration, public engagement, and pa
rtnerships with industry, government, and Indigenous communities, ABC a
ims to promote understanding about the effects of algorithmic bias and to
shape more equitable AI systems. Professor Karina Vold is part of this ini
tiative.  \n\nSponsors \nCentre for Ethics \n15 Devonshire Place, Toronto
